Maybe it’s the change of season…. maybe it is the chaos in the world…..or maybe its what is going on within each of us, but it sure feels like there is a lot happening.

What do you do when things are difficult? Confusing? Complicated?

I always take myself back to the basics. What is the # 1 thing that helps me to focus and get my feet solidly on the ground? 

I start with my worldview of how I see reality working. What do I have control of and what I do not…

I review my faith in this worldview. I believe that there is “something” …. God, Divine, Source, etc.…. A something that has greater power than me. This energy shares guidance, it makes sure that I get the help I need, and it shows me signs that confirm the current path I am on. I need to be paying attention.

Faith is a belief system.  Beliefs are the ways we each try to make sense of and navigate our complex world. A belief is a collection of thoughts about the way each of us expects things in our environment to behave, and how things are related to each other.

Another important component of a belief system is trust. To trust is to have confidence in the reliability, truth, and strength of something. Trust is an action based on the belief system. Trust is built over time. 

Okay, so I have faith in this energy that I call Source. I have this situation that is difficult. How do I use my faith? How do I know my worldview is trustworthy?

I think it requires honesty with myself to answer these questions.

Am I in alignment with my core values?

Am I open to look at my part of the situation?

Am I open to compromise?

If I am answering yes to these questions, then I am on the right track.

If the answer is no, well darn it, I have more work to do on myself!
