Reiki Master Reflections

Reiki Master Reflections

I have been offering Reiki in my client sessions for over ten years. I took the classes needed to become a Reiki Master quickly, maybe in a total of three months, with little thought as to what it meant to become a master of this body of work.

Sounds like something special…. “Master”!

I’d like to reflect on what being a Reiki Master has meant to me.

I have had many questions around the word ‘Master’. It can mean ruler, but it can also mean someone who has demonstrated skill and proficiency at something. I am not the ruler type. The desire to demonstrate skill and proficiency……now, that sounds more like me!

I think I was guided to take the Reiki workshops. Everything just showed up easily for the training. After classes though, the Reiki information just sat for a while until my ‘teacher’, a seven-year-old cancer patient, showed up. When this little girl hopped up on my table and asked me for Reiki, I was surprised! I asked her if she knew what Reiki meant. She said no, but that this was what she wanted. She was listening to herself. Her experience of Reiki energy in that session was powerful.

I started listening to myself. From that point forward when the word Reiki showed up in one of my client sessions, I paid attention. It meant that something other than the ordinary was at work with the client. The Reiki energy was highlighting that the “higher power” was revealing to me, to the client, or to both of us, something we should learn.

Reiki is a great way to learn about energy. We have all had everyday experiences with energy. For example, ‘shocking’ someone after walking across a carpet. When you prepare to become a Reiki Master, you are taking your relationship with energy to a whole new level.

My relationship with Reiki energy has made me aware that my actions matter, and that I have a responsibility to respect the energy. The things I say, and even my thoughts, carry an energetic signature that has impact. I would definitely say that Reiki has magnified my awareness and made me a better practitioner.

If you are thinking about becoming a Reiki Master, I would encourage you to go for it! Reiki adds so much to your life. This wonderful energy can be used for your own self-care and/or offered to others.

My sweetie tells me that I have flowers in my world, and that few people can see the world from this viewpoint. I am thankful that I see the world this way. I believe Reiki has been the catalyst.

I will be teaching the ‘Holy Fire Advanced / Reiki Master Workshop’ on November 2nd, 3rd and 4th. This workshop combines both Advanced Reiki Training (ART) and Reiki Master Instruction into one 3-day class. I hope to see you there!
